A Place I Love To Visit

New York appeared to me as a City of wonder and amazement. The energy, people, noise, and bustle all invigorated in me a new sense of self.
I was initially unexcited to go to  New York because I had little interest in going to New York, a city which I knew little about. Rather, the Empire State Building was a monument that symbolized prosperity and success. It seemed to be a beacon that represented the dreams of millions, and it was welcoming me to into the heart of its city. In New York I felt like I was standing at the center of the world. The city appeared to be an open book, offering all of its content for me to explore and indulge in. To me New York was more than a city, it was a. For once in my life I felt as though I was part of something bigger than myself, and everything that New York had to offer was mine for the taking. When I left the city, I felt as though I was a completely different person than when I entered. The qualities that I took with me from this trip remain an active part of my life to this day.
New York City served as a model of success and aspiration for my life. Whenever I felt overwhelmed I would mentally place myself on the streets of Manhattan and let the energy of the city sweep my stress away. All it takes to re-energize myself is to picture the glistening Empire State Building on that morning five years ago, and feel as though the possibilities for my life are endless.
However, my views on life were changed when I travel to New York City for the first time my freshman year of high school. I felt a new sense of purpose take over my life.. Going to New York inspired me to work hard in school and focus on my future. I felt that with vast dreams, hard work, and determination that I could break out of my sheltered life and embody the energy of New York City.
